Notes are a tough thing to organize and digitize. Finding the proper program on your computer or app on your smart phone to jot down your grocery list or that phone number you need can be cumbersome. I’m a big user of Evernote to save and organize web clippings, articles, recipes, meeting notes, business ideas and more, but recently checked out Workflowy. It looks to be a great place to capture and organize lists, brainstorms, etc.. It reminds me of mindmapping, but for more linear thinkers. Evernote users: do you see an application for Workflowy also, that is separate and different from the way you use Evernote, or would you use Evernote for the same functions?

I use both applications, Debbie. I use Evernote to store my notes on productivity classes (using the scan/read functionality of Evernote) as well as to capture experiential things I want to do in the future (using the web page snagit & hand-written notes functions). Then I use Workflowy almost exclusively for delegation. Each week has an entry…and then there are separate entries for various tasks each week. It allows for easy transfer of information & for searching of information when a repeat task arises. I use SugerSync, so including files via public links is easy in Workflowy, as it allows for hyperlinks. I find the boundaries between the two apps helpful & easy to maintain.
